| Often
referred to as “veterinary bedding”, pet beds were
developed in the 1960’s as a spin-off of hospital
pads developed for bed sores.
They are now in wide use by veterinary clinics,
breeders, and pet lovers for:
orthopedic problems, incontinence, whelping,
illness, surgical recovery, and for the general
well-being of animals.
Palace Pet Beds are manufactured by the same
producer of premium hospital pads. |

First,
all latex backcoatings are not
the same.
Some companies put it on thicker and try to
sell you on the features of a firmer or stiffer back.
This simply adds weight to the product where
you don’t need it.
You want your weight in the quantity of fiber
that is in the material, not in the backcoating.
And don’t be fooled by green backcoating.
Color can be added to any backcoating.
It is simply a marketing technique which
increases the cost of the product.
Palace Pet Beds are produced with a crisp,
clear white backcoating, putting the money into giving
you more fiber.
Second, be very clear about what you are purchasing.
In the industry, it is called, fiber density
(the thickness of the product)
and it is usually discussed in grams per square meter (gsm).
In the United States, few people have the
knowledge to calculate what they are actually
receiving. Deluxe
Palace Pet Beds are 1-1 1/4” high
and weigh approximately 1100 grams per square yard (1300 gsm). Super Deluxe
Palace Pet Beds are 1-1 1/4” high
and weigh approximately 1650 grams per square yard
(2000 gsm), the highest density pet
beds sold. |
